Season 5 Gladiator Title Discussion

Here we are once again…arena season 5 is drawing to a rapid conclusion as 3.1 approaches nearer every day, so the final season push for Gladiator and the other titles is on. In previous arena seasons we saw what I considered to be an incredibly high number of teams getting gladiator ranks. This in large part had to do with the spiraling number of inactive teams still being counted as active, particularly as TBC progressed from S1 to S4.
By the time we hit season 4 in TBC the gladiator cut offs looked something like this..
- 2v2 – 180
- 3v3 – 90
- 5v5 – 30
But based on ArenaJunkies recent title calculations it’s looking like it’s going to be significantly harder for many teams to make gladiator this season. Below I’ve posted the section from my battlegrounp, as you can see it’s going to be a rough grind.
- 2v2 starts at…2344
- 3v3 starts at…2211
- 5v5 starts at…2167
And you can be sure the values I’ve listed above will increase even further as season 5 closes out. If you’re team hasn’t already started your end of season push I suggest you get at it, it may take some time to get that glad ranking this season.
Season 5 Ending Soon

Nothing to surprising in Blizzard’s recent announcement regarding the end of season 5. Better start making your push up the rankings for those of you that want to get gladiator this season!
We are nearing the end of Arena Season 5, which is currently scheduled to end with or shortly after the release of the next major content update, patch 3.1. A more specific date will be announced as we draw closer to the release of the patch.
As a general reminder, all Arena points will be reset with the start of Arena Season 6, but honor points will remain.
Arena Season 5 Arena / Honor Items

With Arena Season 5 launching on December 16, we wanted to provide some helpful information. The method in which Arena or Honor items can be purchased will be slightly different then how it was before. For Arena items, there will be 3 tiers of purchasable set items that includes pieces for the Head, Shoulders, Chest, Gloves, and Legs as follows:
Tier 1 – Superior (blue) quality items:
- No rating requirements
- Costs Honor and Arena points
- Equivalent to heroic dungeon items
Tier 2- Epic (purple) quality items:
- Medium rating requirements
- Costs Arena points
- Equivalent to 10-person raid items
Tier 3 – Epic (purple) quality items:
- High rating requirements
- Costs Arena points
- Equivalent to 25-person raid items
- This tier will also contain Arena weapons
In addition, there will be two tiers of Honor items that includes pieces for the neck, ring, boots, belt, bracer, and trinket as follows:
Tier 1 – Epic (purple) quality items:
- Medium rating requirements
- Costs Honor points
- Equivalent to 10-person raid items
Tier 2 – Epic (purple) quality items:
- High rating requirements
- Costs Honor points
- Equivalent to 25-person raid items

Arena Season 5 Start Date Announced
Season 4 Ends, Season 5 Start Date Announced
We wanted to remind everyone that Arena season 4 is coming to a close. During next Tuesday’s maintenance, all arena teams, as well as ratings, will be wiped and arena charter NPCs disabled. Thus, arena points will, unfortunately, not be rewarded for rated games played this week.
The next Arena season will begin on December 16th, and once that happens players at level 70 will be able to participate in rated matches against level 70 opponents and gain Arena points for item purchases but will not count towards the end of season rewards. At the same time, level 80 players will be able to compete in rated arena matches where they can gain arena points which can be used to purchase level 80 arena gear, as well as compete for end-of-season rewards. Additionally, players at level 70 will continue to be able to play skirmish Arena matches against other level 70 opponents even after Wrath of the Lich King launches. It’s also important to note that two new skirmish brackets (71-75, 76-80) will be available for players who wish to hone their Arena skills while leveling in Northrend.
WotLK Arena Gear from PvE?!

Fans of World PvP have been waiting long enough for their favorite place to do battle to have some purpose, and that is just what Blizzard has in store for Lake Wintergrasp in Wrath of the Lich King. Level 80s who belong to the faction currently controlling Lake Wintergrasp may attempt the new boss, Archavon the Stone Watcher. The best news of course, other than the fact that it is a single boss instance with no trash mobs, is that he drops Season 5 arena gear!
