Updated Mounts and Mount Achievement for WOTLK

September 18, 2008 by Zuggy · 1 Comment

Now THAT is what I call a money-sink. A few new mounts in WOTLK have been revealed, one of them being the Reins of the Grand Caravan Mammoth. This is a 3-person mount that also carries vendors. That’s right – you no longer would have to go back to a vendor to sell things, since you have your own personal vendor on your mount. Now, the extent of what these vendors sell is unknown, but personally I’m hoping you can pick and choose which type of vendor you want. How nice would it be to have a reagent vendor at your beckon call? Or even your own personal repairer?  Although at 15,000g it seems like nigh impossible for anyone to get, that’s what everyone said about epic fliers.
In other news, a new achievement has been released for WOTLK. The reward of the Albino Drake is obtained by amassing a ridiculous 75 unique mounts. Yes, you heard right. I said 75. Personally, this seems absolutely ridiculous, although I know I’ll be personally shooting for it (eventually….). All I know is that this mount better be the coolest thing in the world, because it will be one of the rarest in the world.

Another interesting development has been brought up by users of the WOTLK Beta Forums. According to Solerius, it is impossible for Tauren to reach the 75 mount mark. Although, to be fair, I have heard from various sources that they plan to implement some sort of way for tauren to obtain this mount, although at this time these plans are unknown.

All in all, this just adds to the hype of WOTLK. With these kinds of money sinks and achievements, gamers all over the world will just have more and more things to obsess over and spend time trying to obtain. I’m especially excited for the Caravan Mammoth, it’s awesome that you will be able to transport low-leveled players around. Who knows, I may start charging for taxi rides all over Azeroth!

Make WoW Gold with Netherweave Cloth

June 20, 2008 by Zuggy · 1 Comment

Well, it is nothing special and many of u guys probably know it. But i am still making good money out of it.
You can buy a stack of netherweave cloth for around 2g40s to 3g. If u have firstaid u can sell 10 Heavy Netherweave Bandage for 3g. So if u are buying netherweave cloth under 3g u actually making profit.

Every time u are in ogr/if just look into the ah for netherweave cloth and bit on it. In addition to that i am spamming a macro that i’m buying netherweave cloth for 2g40s. U are going to be surprised how many people are actually selling u netherweave cloth for 2g40s.

Make 500g / day with Auctioneer

make 500g / day with auctioneer addonIf you’ve be even vaguely aware of addons and user interface modifications then you’ve certainly heard of auctioneer. If you haven’t, here’s the basics…

Auctioneer is an addon which dramatically increases a users ability to analyze the World of Warcraft auction house. The mod allows you search all items currently listed. Through multiple searches the addon then builds buying and selling averages for each item.

So what’s the point? Well, using this this information you can effectively make purchases on a large scale. Allowing you to buy low, sell high, and make hundreds of gold every day by simply taking advantage of other gamers who don’t understand how the AH works.

Though I can’t reveal all of my secret auction house strategies, I do have one tip for you. The item we are dealing with in this particular example is netherweave cloth. It’s an item with a massive supply and a fairly low demand, so low that people often put stacks of netherweave cloth below vendor price.

Price Tip: If you craft a stack of netherweave into heavy netherweave bandages you can vendor this stack for 3g, which is often less than the price on the AH).

While you can certainly just buy up stacks and vendor them, the real money is in crafting items out of the cloth. My typical strategy on netherweave goes something like this…

Basically, we’re going to buy materials for cheap off the auction house and craft them into something useful. In this case, we’re going to make Arcanoweave Bracers, most tailors should have this pattern.

Arcanoweave Bracers Materials:
Netherweave Bolt x 6
Arcane Dust x 12
Runethread x 2

Pricing Guide:
Netherweave Cloth: Buy stacks of under 3g per
Arcane Dust: Buy stacks for under 20g per
Runethread: Buy from vendor for 40s per

Cost Per Item:
Netherweave 5.4g (36 total netherweave needed = 1.8 stacks x 3 = 5.4)
Arcane Dust: 12g (12 total dust needed x 1g per = 12g)
Runethread: 80s
Total Cost: 18.2 gold

So you may be thinking, what the hell am I going to do with all of these stupid arcane resist bracers? Disenchant them of course! (arcanoweave bracers have a 100% chance to disenchant into large prismatic shards)

While netherweave cloth is very low in demand, large prismatic shards are extremely high in demand. They also sell for much more than the total cost of our materials we bought.

Just take a look at the current trends on large prismatic shards…
Total Prices: 1000
High Price: 1000g 99s 50c
Low Price: 18g
Average: 40g 3s 59c
Median: 30g
Most Common: 30g
Std Deviation: 90g 78s 19c

Even assuming you sell for 30 gold, that’s a 12 gold profit per item! And what have you done? Nothing really, you buy some items, get your friends to craft a few things, and bam, you’ve generated income that can be repeated every day.

Needless to say, auctioneer goes well beyond this example here. Using the mod I’ve taken hold of entire sections of my server’s economy for days on end. All it requires is a good understanding of the auction house, your server’s market, and basic economics. Using these concepts you too can start making easy gold with auctioneer and the auction house.
