Updated Mounts and Mount Achievement for WOTLK

September 18, 2008 by Zuggy · 1 Comment

Now THAT is what I call a money-sink. A few new mounts in WOTLK have been revealed, one of them being the Reins of the Grand Caravan Mammoth. This is a 3-person mount that also carries vendors. That’s right – you no longer would have to go back to a vendor to sell things, since you have your own personal vendor on your mount. Now, the extent of what these vendors sell is unknown, but personally I’m hoping you can pick and choose which type of vendor you want. How nice would it be to have a reagent vendor at your beckon call? Or even your own personal repairer?  Although at 15,000g it seems like nigh impossible for anyone to get, that’s what everyone said about epic fliers.
In other news, a new achievement has been released for WOTLK. The reward of the Albino Drake is obtained by amassing a ridiculous 75 unique mounts. Yes, you heard right. I said 75. Personally, this seems absolutely ridiculous, although I know I’ll be personally shooting for it (eventually….). All I know is that this mount better be the coolest thing in the world, because it will be one of the rarest in the world.

Another interesting development has been brought up by users of the WOTLK Beta Forums. According to Solerius, it is impossible for Tauren to reach the 75 mount mark. Although, to be fair, I have heard from various sources that they plan to implement some sort of way for tauren to obtain this mount, although at this time these plans are unknown.

All in all, this just adds to the hype of WOTLK. With these kinds of money sinks and achievements, gamers all over the world will just have more and more things to obsess over and spend time trying to obtain. I’m especially excited for the Caravan Mammoth, it’s awesome that you will be able to transport low-leveled players around. Who knows, I may start charging for taxi rides all over Azeroth!

Gold Making Tip #5 - Mining and Jewelcrafting

September 17, 2008 by Zuggy · 2 Comments

This weeks gold farming tip is really more of a preview of a major concept I’d like to setup with my next video. Which details how we can use mining and jewelcrafting together to make a lot of gold through the process of auction house speculation, prospecting, crafting and ore farming.

In my opinion mining is the one of the most profitable professions currently out there. Granted, it has to be used and I really think is where most players just miss the boat. There’s a common misconception that to farm crazy gold per hour you just go wave a magic wand and poof…gold. In the immortal words of President George W. Bush…

if there was a magic wand, I’d wave it…(lawl bushisms)

But back to the topic at hand. Mining is pretty crazy as far as gold farming is concerned, in my experience just an hour worth of ore farming per day could yield 300-400g. It’s an excellent source of income I’ve used for years now and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a pretty easy profession you can use to bring in constitent and repeated profits.

Gold Making Strategy #4 - Fishing Gold Tips

September 8, 2008 by Zuggy · 4 Comments

fishing gold tipsMany people think making lots of gold in World of Warcraft comes in 2 varieties…

  1. Spending countless hours killing the same group of mobs again and again
  2. Using gimmicks to somehow turn a switch for 300g / hour to the “on” position

This just couldn’t be further from the truth. I can’t tell you the number of people I’ve personally known who fall into that second category. Fortunately, there are solutions, and this week’s gold tip exposes one of those. For those of you who didn’t pick up from the title, we’re talking about fishing this week.

Fishing is just one of those professions that I think a lot of people really miss the boat on…queue the drums, lol, but really you can make a lot of gold with fishing in a very reasonable amount of gold. Check out the short video below to see how I’m making 195-200g an hour by just using standard fishing practices in combination with sound economic principles…and how you can use these same techniques to start making a lot of gold every day with fishing!

Tuskarrmageddon Achievement: Seal Cub Clubbin Club

July 23, 2008 by Zuggy · Leave a Comment

So unless you’ve been living under a rock for several weeks then you’re vaguely aware that wrath of the lich king is coming out soon, and one of the newest features is the achievements system. Wrath of the lich king achievements are basically novel rewards for accomplishing something in the game.

Now that something could be winning 10 arena matches in a row, collecting 10,000 gold from quests, or in the case of…

Tuskarrmageddon…

Mindlessly slaughter 1,000,000 Tuskarr.

Reward: Baby Seal Cub

tuskarrNow, beyond the fact that it’s damn hilarious (and potentially a fake) let’s just think about the total time investment this would require. For your reference Tuskarr is a faction that will not be introduced until the the Wrath of the Lich King goes live.

Now let’s assume there are some low level Tuskarr available for you to kill, say level 70-72. You being a level 80 should tear through em fast. For the purpose of this scenario you kill them insanely fast, let’s say you kill and loot one tuskarr every 5 seconds.

5 seconds * 1,000,000 million Tuskarr = 5,000,000 seconds

5,000,000 seconds = 83,333.33 minutes = 1388.88 hours = 57.87 days!

All I can say is it better be one damn cool baby seal cub…

Sunwell Island Dailies Questing Guide

June 20, 2008 by Zuggy · 1 Comment

Personally I’ve never been much of a fan daily quests. Up to patch 2.4 all the quests were simply too time consuming and too far spread apart to really justify the time investment they took to complete them. If you’ve read my gold farming guide then you already know I don’t even mention daily questing as a legitimate method to farming gold quickly.

However, this really changed with the addition of Sunwell Island. Unlike previous daily quests all of these quests are located fairly close together, and are very quick to complete. Allowing you to quickly gain reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive (Sunwell Faction).

Here are the 8 repeatable daily quests you’ll want to pick up on this farming run.

  1. The Battle Must Go On
  2. Taking The Harbor
  3. Arm The Wards
  4. Further Conversions
  5. Intercept The Reinforcements
  6. The Air Strikes Must Continue
  7. Don’t Stop Now
  8. Know Your Ley Lines

*Note: Many of these quest names are not exact as they are 2nd level quests after you’ve completed the initial quest / phases of the realm event. Though they original names should be similar.

Now, you can complete these quest in any order you choose to, but being the power farmer that I am I’m always searching for the absolute fastest way to accomplish something. So far, here’s the best route I’ve come up with.

  1. Pick up all 8 quests from locations A, B, and C. Starting with A and heading south and southwest to C
  2. Kill your 6 demons and stick the banner in the Emissary of Hate at location 1
  3. Before moving on, make sure you use your Astromancer’s Crystal to take the ley line reading at the portal.
  4. Next, head northwest to location 2 and kill summoners, marksman, and blood knights. It’s a good idea to kill mobs for the quest near the Bloodcrystal (it’s in the building directly southeast of location A) so you can do your next ley line reading.
  5. Once you’ve completed this quest head west again to location 3. Here you need to kill Erratic Sentries, Wretched Devourers, and Wretched Fiends.
  6. After you kill the sentries use the Attuned Crystal Cores to convert them for the quest, also, make sure you are looting your mana remnants for the wretched fiend / devourer quest
  7. After you’ve completed these 2 head Northeast to the flight master (location 4), hop on the flight to intercept the reinforcements.
  8. Bomb the 3 ships, kill the 6 mobs, then fly back to the flight master via the boat you started on
  9. Next, take the flight to undertake an air strike. It might take you two tries you first time around, but once you get the hang of it you can kill all the mobs on the first pass with your bombs
  10. Once you’ve landed go to one of the large red crystals between locations A and B, here click on the mana remnants to turn complete the quest.
  11. Now, head far east to location 5, here you need to kill Naga Myrmidons for their keys, use these to unlock the chests located around the shore. Note, only Myrmidons drop the keys.
  12. The final ley line reading location is a decent distance down the coast, so it’s a good idea to clear to it while your killing nagas anyway.
  13. Finally, return to town to turn in all your quests!

Make WoW Gold with Netherweave Cloth

June 20, 2008 by Zuggy · 1 Comment

Well, it is nothing special and many of u guys probably know it. But i am still making good money out of it.
You can buy a stack of netherweave cloth for around 2g40s to 3g. If u have firstaid u can sell 10 Heavy Netherweave Bandage for 3g. So if u are buying netherweave cloth under 3g u actually making profit.

Every time u are in ogr/if just look into the ah for netherweave cloth and bit on it. In addition to that i am spamming a macro that i’m buying netherweave cloth for 2g40s. U are going to be surprised how many people are actually selling u netherweave cloth for 2g40s.

Primal Air and Fire Farming Guide

June 20, 2008 by Zuggy · Leave a Comment

I’m not sure how cluttered this might be depending on server, but undeniably my favorite place to farm is Shadowmoon Valley. In Zul’jin’s server economy primal fire goes for easily 30-40g a piece and Primal air about 20-25.
Primal Air Farming
Check out the Netherwing Fields(on your map should be the place with crystals) and pretty much check every turn and crevice and you’ll be sure to find plenty of Enraged Air Spirits. Drop-rate wise it is usually good and I can’t complain and it’s doubtful you’ll go for more than 2 minutes without an elemental to kill.

Primal Fire Farming
Check out the fel pits, these are the pools of lava on your map. Around here you will find many wandering Enraged Fire Spirits, and drop rates here for me are decent so it doesn’t sway too far from the Primal Air.

If you spend even just 45-60 min solidly farming these two locations you easily already have 2-4 Primal air and 3-5 Primal fire. For me this is amazing as I don’t really save up my gold very much and burn through it with repairs, sockets, enchants and respecs. Hope this helps everyone and best of luck.
