In this week’s community spotlight I wanted to showcase one of my favorite wow blogs, Just My Two Copper. JMTC is a fairly new blog and is the creation of Markco Polo (…no really, that’s his name) and…much like Zug Gaming, is dedicated to providing player’s with unique strategy guides, tips, hints, and other helpful resources. Markco’s forte is centered primarily on making gold in WoW and he’s recently released his Best Farming Spot in WotLK.
This brief strategy guide details a quick farming location in the Storm Peaks capable of averaging upwards of 800 gold per hour. What I really like the most about this particular strategy write up (and many of Markco’s other blog entries) is the depth and clear reasoning behind his strategies. It’s more than just a strategy for doing X to achieve Y results, it’s Markco’s complete break down of tactics, logic, implementation, and potential for improvement that takes a post like this to the next level.
Brief exert from Markco’s Post…
This is my #1 Farming spot in WOTLK. Did you hear me? I’m telling you the #1 Farming Spot in WOTLK! There are some caveats, but if you have the right professions/class then nothing beats it, in fact I dare you to find something that does. We’re talking 400 gold every half hour as a bare horrible minimum. As an engineer, miner, and ranged class you would easily clear 1000 gold an hour farming these Scions of Storm…

Hey guys, just wanted to announce that I’m finally starting the Zug Gaming Club back up again! I started the Zug Gaming Club several months ago, but unfortunately other obligations and projects ended up putting the club on the back burner…so my apologies for the hiatus.
With the WotLK expansion right around the corner I figured this would be the perfect time to start things back up again.

This weeks gold farming tip is really more of a preview of a major concept I’d like to setup with my next video. Which details how we can use mining and jewelcrafting together to make a lot of gold through the process of auction house speculation, prospecting, crafting and ore farming.
In my opinion mining is the one of the most profitable professions currently out there. Granted, it has to be used and I really think is where most players just miss the boat. There’s a common misconception that to farm crazy gold per hour you just go wave a magic wand and poof…gold. In the immortal words of President George W. Bush…
if there was a magic wand, I’d wave it…(lawl bushisms)
But back to the topic at hand. Mining is pretty crazy as far as gold farming is concerned, in my experience just an hour worth of ore farming per day could yield 300-400g. It’s an excellent source of income I’ve used for years now and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a pretty easy profession you can use to bring in constitent and repeated profits.
Many people think making lots of gold in World of Warcraft comes in 2 varieties…
- Spending countless hours killing the same group of mobs again and again
- Using gimmicks to somehow turn a switch for 300g / hour to the “on” position
This just couldn’t be further from the truth. I can’t tell you the number of people I’ve personally known who fall into that second category. Fortunately, there are solutions, and this week’s gold tip exposes one of those. For those of you who didn’t pick up from the title, we’re talking about fishing this week.
Fishing is just one of those professions that I think a lot of people really miss the boat on…queue the drums, lol, but really you can make a lot of gold with fishing in a very reasonable amount of gold. Check out the short video below to see how I’m making 195-200g an hour by just using standard fishing practices in combination with sound economic principles…and how you can use these same techniques to start making a lot of gold every day with fishing!
