Paladin Focus Macro Guide

When you’re playing a paladin, you may not have as much of a need for focus macros as on your other characters, but a few focus macros will certainly help out, especially if you’re in a DPS role. Paladin focus macros are also very helpful for crowd control.
If you are looking for macros for other classes make sure to check out our other WoW class macro guides, or for paladins specifically our paladin macro guide. That said here’s a quick paladin focus macro guide to get you started.
This first paladin focus macro is a great utility one to keep on hand. If you right-click it, you’ll cast Exorcism on your target. Left-click on it, and you’ll cast Exorcism on your focus instead. Middle-click the macro, and your focus becomes your target and gets Exorcism cast on it. You can easily change out the Exorcism spell to any other one you use heavily. This macro will really help out when you find yourself battling two enemies at once.

This paladin focus macro allows you to cast Repentance on your focus without losing your primary target. It’s the perfect crowd control macro when things get a little iffy.

For a quick save of any raid member, this paladin focus macro casts Hand of Sacrifice on your focus target without stopping the attack on your current target. It’s handyto bail out your healer in a pinch if the raid goes awry for a moment.

This paladin focus macro is perfect to use during raids. It allows you to target the enemy closest to you, but switch quickly to your tank’s target if it’s different than the enemy closest to you. You can easily customize this focus macro to cast any spell you want when you start the attack. Just change Exorcism to your spell of choice.

Druid Focus Macros

If you’re a druid and not using focus macros then you’re not not playing at your maximum potential. Focus macros are the easiest way to quickly improve your play, both from PvP and PvE perspectives. If you aren’t already up on focus macros I strongly encourage you go ahead and read my fundamentals for focus macros guide, this will teach you how to setup and use focus macros.
Additionally, make sure you check out my druid macro guide for non-focus druid macros.
Crowd Control Druid Macros
Focus Cyclone Macro
/cast [target=focus] Cyclone
Focus Root Macro
/cast [target=focus] Entangling Roots
Focus Feral Charge Macro
/cast [target=focus] Feral Charge
Focus Hibernate Macro
/cast [target=focus] Hibernate
In my opinion the above 4 macros are absolutely crucial for all druids, particularly PvP druids. These will allow you to efficiently crowd control and / or heal multiple targets since without having to worry about constant target switching. At the very minimum you should be using the focus cyclone macro or arena / pvp purposes.
Modifier Crowd Control Macros
Focus Cyclone Macro + Modifier
/cast [target=focus, modifier:shift] Cyclone; Cyclone
Focus Root Macro + Modifier
/cast [target=focus, modifier:shift] Entangling Roots; Entangling Roots
Focus Feral Charge Macro + Modifier
/cast [target=focus, modifier:shift] Feral Charge; Feral Charge
Focus Hibernate Macro + Modifier
/cast [target=focus, modifier:shift] Hibernate; Hibernate
I prefer this second set of focus cc macros above the first. These will allow you use the focus version of the spell with a regular button press, or a standard target=target spell with a shift modifier. Note: you can change the “shift” to control or alt, or any combination of these three.
Healing Druid Macros
Nature’s Swiftness Focus Macros
/cast Nature’s Swiftness
/stopcasting
/cast [target=focus] Healing Touch
Shaman Focus Macros

When you’re playing a hybrid class like shamans, it is going to be of absolute importance to maximize your macro usage. General macros and focus macros allow you to not only simplify your hot bars, but also enhance your ability to make faster decisions, consolidate spells, and will allow you to manage multiple targets with greater ease.
If you haven’t already read my general guide, or don’t know why focus macros are you should check it out here, focus macro guide. Also, if you’re just looking for generic shaman macros head over here, shaman macro guide.
Focus Earth Shock (Rank 1)
/cast [target=focus] Earth Shock(Rank 1)
Focus Earth Shock (Max Rank)
/cast [target=focus] Earth Shock
Focus Frost Shock (Rank 1)
/cast [target=focus] Frost Shock(Rank 1)
Focus Frost Shock (Max Rank)
/cast [target=focus] Frost Shock
You may also choose to create a focus flame shock macro in the same manner. Beyond the occasional flame shock on a rogue, I rarely find myself preferring flame shock in a PvP scenario. As a PvE enhancement shaman you may want to create one, as a flame shock / earth shock rotation will yield maximum damage.
Focus Lightning Bolt
/cast [target=focus] Lightning Bolt
Probably one of the most under rated macros in the shaman’s arsenal. What I like about this is you can completely change your target without ever have to look in their direct, target them, or even stop chain casting for a second.
This type of seamless target switching allowed my elemental shaman to lead quick switches and drop a 2345 bomb at a moments notice.
Restoration Focus Macros
Focus Lesser Healing Wave
/cast [target=focus] Lesser Healing Wave
Focus Healing Wave
/cast [target=focus] Healing Wave
Focus Nature’s Swiftness Healing Wave
/cast Nature’s Swiftness
/stopcasting
/cast [target=focus] Healing Wave
These are certainly more PvE oriented, but still solid macros never-the-less. What I like about these focus healing macros is you’re able to handle many targets without having to constantly switch target frames. I typically will set my focus as one of the tanks in PvE, while I’m typically healing the raid with chain heal, being able to quickly switch to them has saved many lives.
Focus Purge Macro
/cast [target=focus] Purge
Not a game breaker by any stretch, but once again this further simplifies the amount of target switching you have to do in both PvP and PvE. Quite honestly, the more time you can spend focusing on your positioning and planning your next move, and not finding a target, the better off you are going to be.
