Mutilate Rogue / Shadow Priest 2v2 Video – Tuska 4

My initial impression of this video was just wow…I’ve been playing World of Warcraft and watching PvP videos for years now and in all that time I’ve never seen a 2v2 video that even comes close to this. This video features a mutilate rogue / shadow priest 2v2 combo from Doom Squad on EU. It’s filmed in the 2100-2350 bracket and features some of Europe’s best teams and players.
The video offers a strategy break down for each different match up they fight and points out some of the subtle strategic decisions they make throughout the fight in order to secure a win. All the strategies are sound and executed to perfection.
On top of being an excellent tutorial video it’s also an incredibly entertaining and enjoyable movie. The editing and music fit very nicely together and the whole package just comes out looking beautifully. 5 / 5 stars.

Frost Mage PvP Video – Ctl1

Typically I’m not interested in many PvP videos, especially frost mage pvp videos. These days good videos are a few and far between, so I rarely bother. However, a friend of mine on Smolderthorn just released his first video, so I had to at least check it out.
Frost Mage PvP Video
Title: Ctl 1
Player: Ctl
Talent Spec: 2/48/11 (frost)
Time: 15 minutes
Arena Ratings: 2000-2200
Music:
- The Legion of Doom – Lolita’s Medicine
- Spineshank – New Disease
- Disarmonia Mundi – Celestial Furnace
- Sonic Syndicate – New Disease
This video features a complication of world PvP, battlegrounds, and arena. The man at the helm is Ctl, an experienced arena mage and overall solid player. Generally speaking this video is well done. The openingĀ scenes of World PvP and battlegrounds are quite refreshing from the accepted norm of 15-20 minutes of arena matches. It certainly showed his ability to handle multiple players at the same time and would be a great watch for aspiring frost mages still trying to master or improve upon their own control and kite game.
The only down side for me is the excessive graphical editing and close up shots on iceblock, unit frames, etc. This really is more of a personal preference, but this really gets on my nerves. Honestly, I have eyes… I can see you just blocked the deathcoil, good job! That is what you ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. I don’t need the Neilyo-esque close ups of every damn skill and ability to show me how “pro” you are.
Beyond that, it’s a great video. Solid editing throughout, exciting fights, a nice mix of arena, world pvp and battelgrounds. This is a great watch both for entertainment and tutorial vlue. 5 stars.
