Warrior/Lock/Druid mirror matches lasting 20 minutes in BEM wasn't fun for anyone.

Players can use what is available to their characters in-game. Each team has a 'named' player captain, like a 'named' mob, representing that the captain is a famous player. You see some brutal 1v1s between captains, with top-level gameplay. This is the stuff you won't see at ESL...this is pro.

The named stuff is great. I wish they tried that out in one of the american tournaments, it would help seperate MLG from ESL

These people sound like they know what they're doing so they won't do match ups like a rogue vs. warlock and priest vs. mage . At least I hope that's what they won't do...

There's quite a bit of rogue/warlock, but it's a bit more complicated than you'd think.

First, the more common comps for 3s teams are W/L/D and R/M/P. Since anyone specced more than a certain defined amount of points into a 'healing' spec is NOT allowed to compete for your team in the 1v1s (GREAT rule), that rules out either the druid or the priest competing. (You cannot respec for 1v1s.)

So with Warrior/Lock/Druid, you have either a warrior or lock that has the potential to play.
With rogue/mage/priest, you can send in either the mage or the rogue.

Now, it's rock-paper-scissors where the teams try to second-guess what the other player will play. If the RMP team is gonna send it's rogue, the W/L/D team would probably opt for the warrior...but they don't KNOW who the RMP team will send (other than they will send their captain at least once). If the warrior goes up against the rogue, he has a good chance of winning. However, if he goes up against a frost mage, at this level of play, he has no chance in hell. Alternatively, if the Frost mage goes up against the SL lock, the SL lock is gonna destroy him, entirely due to LOS abuse and outlasting (remember, this is pre-3.0 talents, so SL lock at this point still shits on mages), whereas SL lock V rogue, in equivalent gear, is only slightly favored toward the rogue if the lock knows what he's doing.

Locks beat the rogues in some of the lock v rogues, other times the locks made terrrrrible mistakes (for some reason ran with felhunter instead of VW for the first half of the fight...he rushed, so he was probably trying to deny the opener, but against a high-quality rogue you can't bet 10% extra mitigation and a -10% hit debuff you can put on the rogue against the possibility of getting the opener.

Another rogue V lock game the lock completely outskilled the rogue, only to lose when both popped their nigh invulnerability belts and the lock's belt backfired. RNG ftw.

Another lock tried using his succy, which was interesting, but since seduce was on the same DRs as fear, it ultimately didn't work too well.

It's on again in like 5 hours, hit it up!

Started watching the old ones with Arara(RMP) @ Minaegi(RMP aswell). The one vs. one with that mage and rogue was just absolutely incredible. Their skills were equal, their cooldowns were managed excellently and that mage put on pressure to perform. I've got to keep up with this it's good stuff!

I honestly find the announcer a little annoying. He's gotten the players mixed up at least 3 times and whenever he calls CC's it just confuses me. Sometimes he just says stuff like, "Another one of the players has been sheeped." NO WAI!!!

edit: THIS GUY IS A TERRIBLE ANNOUNCER! He provides the wrong or completely irrelevant info that nobody cares about. He also speaks during the best action distracting us from what's important. I swear to god he stayed on imp. gouge from combat for like 4 min. We get it you can restealth after 5.5 seconds...please let us enjoy the actual players.

edit 2: Everytime a cheapshot happen this guy says sap same for gouge...He's fired in my book.

What are you supposed to say? To someone who doesn't know the game, it's just half-cute characters beating on eachother and yellow numbers flying all over the screen --

Was rooting against Minaegi the whole time in the old tournaments even though I knew they were going to win. Was really sad watching the Clazzi priest cry when handed second place.

Well there's no way to put it I'm pretty much hooked to this tournament now. It's also safe to say Hiren is my rogue class hero.
