Words cannot accurately describe the most recent addition to Blizzard’s cinematic mastery. With a December 7, 2010 launch date now officially confirmed by Blizzard they have just offered up another tantalizing piece of Cataclysm with the cinematic trailer. Without question one of the best cinematic creations Blizzard has developed.
Excellent video in HD of all the revamped WoW capital cities for cataclysm. All of the major WoW cities are getting a major face life for Cataclysm. This video features many of the major changes already in place, but expect more intense changes to come!
Quick video strategy break down of the General Vezax encounter in Ulduar. Major thanks to Erthalia from the Zug Gaming community who sent this video me. The following video details the general vezax encounter from a restoration druid’s point of view, including numerous strategy pointers throughout this short video.
Hey guys, while this certainly doesnt’ fall into line with my “usual” post, I managed to come across some really old video footage that I thought might get a few laughs. Both of these videos were shot in my first real raiding guild, Entropy of Smolderthorn. This was my raiding guild during the majority of classic WoW and I’m still playing with a good chunk of the same guys today. Both of these videos are fairly short (2 minutes each).
This first video is our guild’s first Ragnaros kill (keep an eye out at 1:00…there’s a shot of 1.0 Zuggy!) and the second video is from our first Onyxia kill. Enjoy!

When it comes to voice acting in World of Warcraft…well, let’s just say it leaves much to be desired. The overall dialogue and voice overs in general typically come off as a rushed afterthought. That said, with Ulduar it really looks like blizzard is taking the voice acting to a completely new level we’ve yet to see in WoW.
Take a listen to this quick 3 minute audio clip featuring Yogg Saron from Ulduar. The overall quality and intensity of the voice over is quite impressing and adds a whole new level of immersion in the dungeon.
Finally got to take a look at the official Ulduar video preview today…impressive stuff. Aesthetically the zone looks amazing, I love the sharp contrasts between the different “wings” if you will. It certainly seems like the development team spent a lot of time really working on the textures and overall feel of the zone. It’s a nice shift from the typical …dark, gray, black and otherwise dreary look you find in most high end dungeons.
Can’t wait to actually see this place in action.
Hilarious WoW machinima filmed as a musical. I haven’t seen a musical this well done in a long time.
Note from Author:
Our film created for the 48 hour film project, machinima division. We did everything you see here (including think up the idea, write dialogue, lyrics, and music, record voices, cap footage, composite and edit) all within 48 hours.
Crew: Jun Falkenstein (Stone Falcon Productions) Ben ‘Macheath’ Covi (Oblivious Films)
Sam ‘Sedrin’ Pierce (Slashdance) orchestrated the music and made it prettyl!
Remember that pretty much only 2 people made EVERYTHING in 48 hours. Meaning that the visuals aren’t super awesome and we ran out of time at the end and had to drop the last scene, instead adding the music track to the credits.
We did get a chance to film some stuff in Dalaran, which was kind of cool, since the Lich King had just come out the same weekend that the 48 hour challenge was happening. The sucky thing was that we were making this film and not PLAYING WotLK!
Update: Check out the complete Sartharion 10-man with 3 Drake Tutorial!
I know it’s been a little while since I released my last video so my apologies…but I think you’ll like this one. The following video features my guild, Gloryhogs, on our first kill of 10-man Sartharian with 3 Drakes up. In the next few days I’ll be putting together a more complete strategy tutorial for this encounter, including detailed diagrams on positioning, tanking tactics, healer breakdowns, DPS synergy, and much more.
High Quality: Download (Recommended)
Note regarding YouTube videos: As some of you may already know, YouTube has been dealing with this huge WCM copyright issue. As a result pretty much any music I select for my videos gets muted due to copyright infrigement, so my apologies on the horrendously awful tracks that currently make up YouTube’s free library. So please…PLEASE, download the full video.

It’s a sad day across Azeroth… yesterday, Athene, the self proclaimed “best paladin in the world” announced his retirement from World of Warcraft. He’s decided to transition into the online poker world, where he hopes to make enough money to support himself as a full time professional gamer.
Athene’s video rants were an overnight sensation and it’s truly unfortunate that he’s moving on.
