Ultimate WoW Guide: Gold, Leveling, and More

Welcome to Zug Gaming’s very first blog carnival! The theme of this month’s carnival is Help a Noob Day!

At some point we were all new to WoW, and chances are that someone was kind enough to help set you straight on how things go down. So this month we’re returning the favor by offering new players a complete resource developed by some of the best WoW bloggers out there. Each and every one of these guides was developed by a top WoW blogger, author, or guide writer.

These guys know their stuff…trust me. One final note before we hop in. A big thanks to Markco of Markco’s 20k Leveling. He originally gave me the idea, so we can all thank him in part for this event. He’s also been gracious enough to sponsor our event. If you haven’t already make sure to check out Markco’s 20k Leveling Guide. It’s the ultimate guide to make insane gold using tactics Markco has developed over years of extensive gaming.

Also, as a special treat Markco is giving away one of his 20k Levleing Guides for free! Just a leave a comment below and you’ll be entered in the contest. We’ll randomly select a winner in a few days. Cheers!

Thanks for including me in the carnival Zuggy. Are you going to be doing future carnivals? If so can you move the date so its not the same day as JMTC?

  2. Mentor on October 2nd, 2010 11:03 am

Many thanks to you Zuggy for holding this carnival I hope my contribution can offer the readers something different.
I have started reading the other information and the advice is top notch.

    Here’s a thought:
If new players are newbie–>noob, are old players oldbie–>oobs??

Thanks for the guest post invite for us over at MMO Melting Pot – really enjoyed taking part, and hoping that we’ve contributed something useful for new players.

It looks like you’ve really succeeded in creating a great resource here for ‘newbies’ that was lacking before. I just hope folks find it!

@Cold – So far I’m really happy with the carnival. I think we got a lot of really great resources that are going to help a lot of people and would love to continue to do them each month. I will definitely change to a different day than Markco, probably sometimes toward the middle of the month.

  5. Moravec on October 2nd, 2010 9:35 pm

Some great posts here Zuggy, thanks for the opportunity. I’d second’s Cold’s suggestion for a different day to Markco’s carnival too – felt a little too under pressure to get both posts out by the end of the month. Anyway, I look forward to providing some more content here in future :)

I think class guides would be a great follow up carnival for you next month. Grats on the great list of posts.

Would love a free guide! Keep up the good work Markco

  8. Thomace on October 3rd, 2010 7:10 pm

Some really great tips for new players here, I sure remember when I was new to the game and struggling to make my very few gold pieces.

  9. Uzume on October 3rd, 2010 7:22 pm

Getting a 20k guide would be so awesome :o

Markco, this will be my first post as I saw your facebook notice. I’ve been studying your strategies for about three months now and have since created a sort of empire. I am now currently helping out an addon author develop an enchanting addon with goblins in mind, far above what is available with Kevtool and qa3. Enchanting and (in the future) all other trades will be able to be crafted with a click of a single button, with no need for all the configuration we see now.

Your strategies have helped me out quite a bit but I still haven’t seen more than 30k in liquid primarily due to auction campers (I have them all charted out on my friend’s list, they’re rarely offline even in the early mornings). I tried making some walls and ruined the server economy for a few weeks but it didn’t work, so I am pretty much stuck where I am. Of course, I have been spending a bit of money too, but nowhere near where I hear about in your posts.

BigPicture says I’m currently at 150k in assets, but I don’t think I’ll ever see fluid gold up anywhere near that high. I currently post over 3000 auctions at a time.

If you ever run your random gold book giveaway I would -love- a crack at it to really have all your techniques in one place. I have to tell you, the blog carnival has been -immensely- helpful and I hope you keep going strong well into cata and beyond.

    - From a poor-as-hell college student who would have to save to buy your book using $2 a week in popcan return deposits for the next few months…..

Thanks for the carnival. It helps a lot to get differing opinoins on money making opportunities. Not just that it states what to do, but it sets a state of mind for me
that I can expand to other areas of money making.

Some great guides real great. Will probally be helpful for me since in almost always dirt poor other then a couple of times of sucsess. Also i would check how the hunters guide since ive been leveling one and loved it. But switching to focus in cata has detered me away.

  13. Rain on October 4th, 2010 3:18 am

Great idea this carnival. I think it will end up helping more than new players. I am an vid listener of all the podcasts and Marko especially has really help me to start understanding the goldmaking process.

I have started a wow blog of my own which partly reviews wow guides and just general wow topics (I wont plug on here as i don’t think it’s right) and I expect I will be frequently refering to Markos tips in particular.

Anyway good luck with the carnival guys, I’m sure it will be a success. I’ll do what I can o spread the word.

  14. MissMediocre on October 4th, 2010 3:28 am

Thank you for including me in the carnival! :) I had fun reading through everyone’s posts, they were all great! This is such a great resource for new players, when next I convince one of my friends to play, I will get them to start here! :D
